Unraveled Dress Rehearsal!

Hi everyone,

We wanted to fill you in with some details for the dress rehearsal! Rehearsal is at 6:30 pm at St. Matthew's. We will be starting at 6:30 so you must arrive a few minutes early so we are ready to go. We should be finished by 10 pm. The photographer will be there to shoot the dress rehearsal so be prepared to ignore him and give it your all!!

Things to Bring:

• your Xara dress
• your Xara shoes (gym slippers or black flats with no heel)
• black leggings
• your black Xara belt
• your Pull shawl and gloves
• Claire/Camila/Kristin: Pull dancer costume - skirt, shirt, dance shorts 
• your Reverberations costume including shoes
• hair elastics/bobby pins/product
• stage makeup 
• tuning fork (if applicable, Christina will also bring some)
• snacks and water for yourself
• music and scripts

Costumes:

Wanting Memories

• short Xara dress
• leggings
• Xara shoes
• hair down but off the face

Pull

• long Xara dress
• Xara shoes
• shawl
• gloves
• hair up 

Reverberations

• individual costume
• shoes
• hair as appropriate to your character, but off your face

Makeup:

• the look for all three pieces is fairly neutral, but we need to see your beautiful features
• foundation/concealer
• blush
• eyeliner/mascara
• lip colour (fairly neutral)

Notes for Sunday - at St Matt's!!!!!

Hi everyone!

Just a few quick notes about this Sunday's rehearsal. Both of us will be passing on our artistic notes from last Sunday's run later today.

• This Sunday we will be rehearsing at St. Matthew's United Church (our performance venue). The address is 1479 Barrington St. Rehearsal will go the usual time (1:15-4-45 pm). This will be an amazing opportunity to get used to the space and feel more comfortable with singing and moving on that stage!
• Enter the church from the side door. Go down the steps and there will be someone waiting at the door to let you in.
• This Sunday, you must not be holding scripts for any part of rehearsal. We need to be off book, so please check all your questionable lines and notes to make sure you are feeling really solid.
• Please bring all costumes for rehearsal this weekend. This includes shoes especially (Xara shoes for Wanting Memories and Pull, character appropriate shoes for Reverberations), as we need to hear if shoes will make too much noise on that floor for Reverberations.

Two Weeks Away!!!

Hi everyone!

Thank you so much for your dedicated and focused rehearsal energy on Sunday. We had to rehearse lots of little finicky bits, which isn't always the most fun, but ultimately it will make the show seamless! So thank you for always being so professional!!!

• Rehearsal this Sunday: We will first be rehearsing Pull & Wanting Memories, and switch gears to Reverberations for the last half of rehearsal. Please bring ALL costume pieces for both Pull and Reveberations (excluding your Xara dresses). We need to see EVERYTHING this week so we can get a sense of how it all looks together, and if we need to make any changes. If you're still missing a piece of clothing, now is the time to ask your friends and look around to complete your costume.
• All your music, lines, and blocking for Wanting Memories must be memorized this week. Please especially review the "so, yes, and" bits of the song Wanting Memories as they are still messy.
• SELL SELL SELL! Get those posters up and sell those tickets! Tenille will be at rehearsal this Sunday with more tickets if you need them.  We all know how special this show is, so make sure to get the word out in every way that you can so we can share it with others!

That's it!!! From here on in, it's up to all of us to work together to make this show magical. That goes for everything from preparing your music/lines at home, to having focused energy in rehearsals, to selling tickets and spreading the word about the show! Let's do this team!!!!!!!!!

Unraveled Notes for Sunday Jan 13

Hi everyone!

We wanted to give you a few reminders before rehearsal this Sunday... But first, thank you all so much for your hard work at the Power Weekend!!!! All three of the pieces have come a long way thanks to your dedication, energy, and commitment. So now we need to KEEP IT UP!!! Continue practicing your music, lines, and blocking throughout the week to keep it fresh and continually moving forward. We have three rehearsals left before the dress rehearsal so we don't want to move backward at all. Make sure to check in with any spots that felt shaky to you on Sunday.

If you missed rehearsal this weekend, it is your responsibility to get any blocking or music notes. Please make sure to check in with someone from your section.

A few other notes:

• Tonight is the fundraising night at the Bus Stop Theatre! Make sure to invite all your friends to come out to this awesome night. Thanks so much to the groups who have organized this evening!
• This Sunday will be our first rehearsal with Claire Gallant!! We are so excited that she will be with us finally! We will be running through Nada and Pen Pen with her first, just for music. Then we will start and stop and go through all the parts that have cello/piano/text etc. Remember that singing with just cello is different than singing with just piano, so be prepared to listen extra closely and be fully engaged. At 3:45 pm we'll start working on Wanting Memories and Pull.
• You'll receive tickets and posters to Unraveled this weekend, but tickets are already available for sale on our website via Paypal! Now is the time to spread the word and make sure people have this date in their calendars.
• This Sunday please bring all your costume pieces for Unraveled, including your Reverberations outfit and shawls/scarves/gloves for Pull. If you have more than one option, please bring it.
• We still need to be spreading the word to tenors and basses about Sweet & Low! Ask people you think would be interested as we need to start making a confirmed list of singers.

Unraveled Show Week - FIRM dates and times

We are sad to say that we learned over the holidays that we were not successful in our last-resort grant application for Unraveled. Therefore, we will not be having an intricate lighting plot but will have, simply, a lit stage and our beautiful singing and moving! Although we always like to work with lighting, the simplicity of this is not unsuited to the subject matter.

So, without lighting, we will have one fewer rehearsals during show week. Here is the FINAL and FIRM schedule! Please book off ALL of this time (and the time you need to get ready and transported) NOW!! A reminder that the rehearsal before the dress rehearsal, as well as the dress, are mandatory for being in the concert.

DRESS REHEARSAL: Wednesday, 30 January (6:30 - 10:00 PM)
SHOW: Friday, 1 February (5:30 - 10:00 PM)

Power Weekend Details!!!

Hi everyone!!

We wanted to give you some more specific details about the Power Weekend so that you can be 100% prepared come January 5th & 6th!

To reiterate, for the Power Weekend ALL PIECES AND TEXT MUST BE MEMORIZED!!!! (with the exception of One Voice choral parts and text for Wanting Memories which you will receive at the Power Weekend). Our schedule is as follows:

Saturday January 5th from 9:30 am - 4:30 pm (lunch is from 12:00-1:15 pm; bring your lunch or money to go out for lunch)
Sunday January 6th from 1:15-4:45 pm

We will be rehearsing Reverberations all day Saturday. We will rehearse Wanting Memories and Pull on Sunday.

Some things to note:

• We will be doing auditions for the solos in One Voice on Saturday. Please come with them prepared if you are interested in auditioning. Christina will start auditions over the lunch break at 12:45 pm on Saturday, so if you are interested, you should bring your lunch so you're ready to go.
• We will be trying out Reverberations costumes on Saturday. Please bring a couple of options (as best as you can, two full possible outfits that you think could work for your character). Remember to consider their age, occupation, relationship to other characters. You may want to get in touch with the other people who are in your "character group" to see if you are all on the same page. We are only asking you to draw from your existing wardrobe, or borrow from a friend, not to purchase anything new at this point. You will only have to wear your costume options for the afternoon run through on Saturday.
• We will be discussing Pull costumes on Sunday. This is the day to bring your dark coloured shawl and day gloves so we can get a sense of how they look.
• If you missed any blocking rehearsals, it is your responsibility to meet with someone to get the notes. We cannot waste time going over things that we have already covered. 
• Unfortunately, due to travel plans, Claire Gallant is unable to join us for rehearsal for the Power Weekend. This means that we will rehearse everything else to get the pieces in excellent shape. Then, we will have three rehearsals before the dress rehearsal to figure things out with Claire.

• Sun Feb 10 - First rehearsal for Sweet & Low

Power Weekend Prep + Holiday Party!!!!!

Hi everyone!

Thank you for your hard work on Sunday - I know it was a tiring rehearsal with lots of little details, but the work we did on Reverberations will be invaluable for January! If you were not there on Sunday, it is your responsibility to sit down with someone and get all the blocking notes. Try to find someone who is your 'group' of characters (ie - friends with friends, teachers with teachers etc).

Our first rehearsal back in the New Year is our Power Weekend!!! The Power Weekend is our 'off book' deadline. You must have all pieces of music memorized, and all text/cue lines for Reverberations memorized. When you're practicing at home, it will be helpful to walk through the script so you know where you move on the stage at all times. This will save us SO much time in rehearsal. Some details:

Saturday January 5th from 9:30-4:30 pm (bring your lunch or money to go out for lunch)
Sunday January 6th from 1:15-4:45 pm

Please do whatever you need to do to get your schedules in place so you can be there for the whole weekend. If you have an unavoidable conflict with any part of the weekend you must let us know ASAP.

And now to end on a fun note! Our holiday party is this Sunday! It will be held at Claire's house (2323 Brunswick St., Unit B) from 1:30 pm until whenever we're finished. It's a potluck so bring some yummy food! We do a Secret Santa gift exchange every year - bring a wrapped present (homemade or under $10) and we will take it from there. Significant others are welcome, and if they'd like to participate in Secret Santa then they can bring a wrapped present too!
