Info for Shelburne Performance of Wail!

Hi everyone!


We made some changes to the blocking for Saturday's show in Shelburne. If you were not at rehearsal on Saturday, please review these changes carefully and if you have any questions, ask someone in your section to clarify.
Blocking Changes

• entrance from backstage on both sides - Sops enter upstage right, Altos enter upstage left

• S1s and S2s on risers; altos in the front as per usual

-Coming from Halifax…
- On Highway 103, take Exit 25 by the Oxbow Motel.
- Go about 6 km until you come to the the stop sign at the centre of town, turn left.
- Continue straight for about 5 blocks.
- Turn right at 107 Water Street.  It’s the big red building at the end of the driveway.

Understudy List

Hi all,

As you know, for our Shelburne show, there are a few performers missing.  Unfortunately, most of this small group of girls have important solo moments in the show (whether that be to give pitches, sing, speak, or move!).  For efficiency's sake, we have come up with an understudy list for these parts.  Please look for your name here and start thinking ahead to these bits and pieces so you are ready to jump in and take over!

Please note that tuning forks will be provided for pitch-givers.

Hi everyone,

We have made a list of all the little details for transitions for each piece. This document is meant to supplement your practicing, but you still need to be reviewing the Wail script document so you are familiar with all the text and the order of the pieces. For some of the transitions it just says “start immediately” - this means there is no extra music that has been added in to the transition, and that you will already be in your starting positions for this piece.

6:30 p.m. call for Dress rehearsal. You will have one hour to get the following to show-ready standards (we are doing our professional photo-shoot during the dress rehearsal so all these elements must be as good as they will be on Friday & Saturday):

• hair
• make-up
• costumes 

8:00 p.m. Dress Rehearsal
We have called you until 10 p.m. for this day.  If the dress rehearsal runs into any major problems, we will may have to go beyond this time but will not keep you later than 10:30 p.m.


Friday, May 11 at Maritime Museum of the Atlantic
5:30 p.m. call for concert (set up chairs, make-up, hair, costumes, rehearse)
8:00 p.m. show
9:30 p.m. help with tear-down (chairs and risers only)
Please note, that NO SINGER may leave until the tear-down is complete.  This is part of being in Xara!
