After a
beat of silence, we will be going straight into Day Dawn – please make sure you know the relationship between your
ending note and your starting note.
Day Dawn
Make note
of the multiple tempo changes in this piece – often, the markings are only
above one part (e.g. page 5 measure 30)
Memorizing
this piece involves a lot of focus on dynamic and tempo markings. Try to
integrate learning all of the elements for small chunks of the piece at a time.
Heaven Will Rise
Key
changes! Take time this week to shore up memory work on this piece as we will
be blocking it next week.
I’ll Give My Love An Apple (see new video)
This will
be conducted in 1 – please don’t drag the tempo!
At measure

- letters for Apple (the ones I distributed to you are fine)
- sheets/pillowcases/clothes for V'la l'bon vent
- knitting for V'la l'bon vent
We'll also be diving into music for Day Dawn and learning the blocking for that piece. We'll do some music work on Heaven Will Rise and check your memory work as it is scheduled to be memorized for Sunday.
Although we are reviewing things this week for the most part, we expect you to be working at home to become very familiar with the music and blocking. Remember that the show off-book date is Sunday April 13.
Thanks everyone! Can't wait to see you all on Sunday.

Notes for Sun March 23 - Recording Day
Hi everyone!
Thanks for a great rehearsal on Sunday! It's so excited to be incorporating blocking into Waiting on the Eastern Line, and to be getting a hold on pieces like Day Dawn. Now it's go go go until our shows in May!
Sunday March 23
This Sunday we are stepping away from WotEL and looking back to Constellations for our recording day. Rehearsal this week will be at Bethany United Church from 1:15-5:30 pm. Here's the rep list:
Ave Maria
Royals
Pseudo-Yoik Lite
Illumina le tenebre
Pakkanen
last page of Uraren besotik
Since we are including Pakkanen and part of Uraren besotik, we will record those first, and full company is called for those two pieces. Following those two pieces, anyone who did not sing Constellations can leave and we will record the rest of the tracks. Please ensure that you are present for the entire rehearsal so that we have a balanced sound for all of the recording session.
Please make sure to review these pieces from Constellations so that you aren't coming to rehearsal with them cold. We will sing them through before we record them, but we don't want to have to spend any time fixing.
Waiting on the Eastern Line Homework
Since we will not be revisiting WotEL blocking and music until March 31, you need to be reviewing all music and blocking to keep moving forward with your learning and memorization. Erin has provided excellent notes and videos to help you with blocking - make sure you are rehearsing the blocking at home this week. In particular make sure to refresh I'll Give My Love an Apple music and blocking since there will be a big gap of time since we last rehearsed the piece.
Reminder that by March 30 the following pieces need to be memorized: Apple, V'la l'bon vent, I lie, Heaven Will Rise.
Upcoming Gig Reminders
Reminder that we have an upcoming gig with Symphony Nova Scotia & Commander Chris Hadfield for Music Monday. This event will take place in the afternoon of Monday May 5th. Please be working ahead to make sure that you are available for this gig as it will give us national exposure and is with some high profile artists.
As well, our soundcheck for Podium will be during the afternoon on Thursday, May 15. It is crucial that we have everyone there for the soundcheck, so please make sure that you are rearranging your schedule as need be so you can be there. Exact times to follow.
