Hello Ladies!
I find it hard to believe but it really is time to start selling wreaths! We have been doing well so far with our fundraising plan so lets keep it up! I will be sending out an email with the very official wreath order form (ha!). It is simple enough, $20 per wreath, they are 16" in diameter, real and will be decorated by us! This decoration party will be on December 1st so please put that in your calendars
An added twist this year is the delivery/carolling option, which is $5 inside Halifax and $10 outside Halifax (meaning anything past Fairview/over the bridge/in bedford). It would be something we start once the decorating is finished, so hopefully around suppertime, and I would need a few girls for each drop off (so we have some parts). If the people you sell wreaths are not interested in that option, you are still responsible for dropping their wreaths off or letting them know they can pick them up at our decorating location (TBA).
We will also be setting up some times with the markets in Halifax to do some carolling so we will have songs prepared ahead of time. Right now I am looking at the 8th and the 15th of December, so once again try to keep some time on those days open.
I want to thank you all for being so proactive in our fundraising efforts. I couldn't do it without you so THANK YOU!
See you all on Sunday,
Tenille

Notes for Sun Oct 21!
Hi everyone,
To those of you who sang Wail on Sunday night - THANK YOU! You gave a moving and beautiful performance that was incredibly well received by the faculty, students, and community members who came to see the show. We are so proud of you all and can't wait for another great performance in Annapolis Royal on Oct 26. We are now so excited to dig deeper into the Remembrance Day repertoire and Unraveled with our full company of singers! Everyone will need to be at rehearsal this Sunday for the full length of time (1:15-4:45 pm).
For this Sunday, we will be rehearsing the entire Remembrance Day program from memory. Don't underestimate the challenge of memorizing Les Angelus. Your harmonic awareness of this piece is as important as knowing your own line so please spend time with the reference recording so you can think about your tuning and balance in addition to your notes. Keep working on the other three pieces so that they remain fresh and improving all the time. We will also be going back through some pieces that we haven't looked through since camp, so please look back through these pieces and listen to the reference recordings to re-familiarize yourself.
Also this Sunday, we will be holding solo auditions for In Autumn and Circle. Anyone who is interested should come with these prepared. While solo auditions are happening, we will also be having some creative workshop time for Unraveled.
Thanks again for all your hard work this weekend, and we are so excited to get moving on the next incredible Xara show!
xoxo Claire & Christina

Notes for Monday Oct 8th
Hi everyone! Thanks for all your hard work on Sunday. The Remembrance Day pieces are really starting to come together, and Wail is working its way back into shape! We still have lots of work to do but we are definitely on the right track! :)
For Monday October 8th, we will have a full ensemble rehearsal from 5:30-6:30 pm. During this time we will have the Unraveled Show & Tell as well as run through all four pieces for We Remember. Note that Zai Itxoiten must be memorized for Monday evening. We will have a quick break and then Wail rehearsal will continue on until 9 pm. During the Wail rehearsal we will pick up where we left off on Sunday to run the second half of the show with fixes, and then we will run the entire show. You will need to bring your skirt to rehearse in; Robin is coordinating costumes for Wail so if you do not have a skirt please be in touch with her ASAP.
For singers who are not doing the Wail remount your October schedule looks like this:
Monday Oct 8th - 5:30-6:30 pm (you are welcome to stay and watch the Wail rehearsal)
Sunday Oct 14th - no rehearsal (you are welcome to attend the Wolfville concert at 7 pm)
Sunday Oct 21st - 1:15-4:15 pm (including solo auditions for Unraveled)

WAIL REMOUNT INFO
Notes from Sunday:
- Christina's biggest musical note is that it is crucial that everyone must watch her for tempos as much as possible given the blocking.
- This week, everyone must review the Wail Instructional Video to double check entrances, exits, blocking notes, and timing. This is the fastest way to clean up these things without having to go over them again and again in rehearsal. The video can be accessed here: https://vimeo.com/47284795
- In addition, everyone must review the Wail script so that they know their speaking lines as well as all cue lines. Cue lines are the lines that signal your speaking text, a change in blocking, or a new piece of music. The script can be viewed here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ya0mmcbGxcq3ydv366jew0ZsacqZmKZuul7Z5LbShuk/edit
- Remember that in the ATF space in Wolfville, Christina will be located front and center, so certain pieces that were slanted to one side will now be performed face on (Altos in Making Waves, Kiurun Tie, Nocturne, Woods)
- Please check your email today for confirmed information about solos and who will be giving what pitches.
Info for Wolfville show:
- You are responsible for organizing your own drives to and from Wolfville.
- Call time is 11:30 am in Wolfville. We have to work through the show in an entirely new space and coordinate with lighting, so the early start time is imperative.
- We will have a supper break from 4-5:30 pm. If you decide to go out to eat in Wolfville, make sure you let your server know that you have a limited timeframe.
- Hair/makeup/show prep begins at 5:30 pm.
- Show at 7 pm.
- Performance should be done no later than 8:30 pm, and then dressing rooms/backstage will have to be cleared and everyone is expected to stay until the venue is put back as we found it.
Thank you again for all of your hard work and XaraLove! Have a wonderful long weekend and we can't wait to see you Monday night!
xox
