Hello Ladies!
Both Claire and Christina were pleased with some elements of our run of Part 1 on Sunday, however, we were also both disappointed with how many of the pieces were not yet memorized. We fully recognize that this is a demanding time of year for many of you and a few singers have taken the opportunity to explain to us any particular circumstances about the schedule as well as their intended strategy for catching up. Please remember that ALL music must be memorized by April 15 (after Easter Weekend).
For this Sunday, we will be doing some targeted work on sections 3 & 4, so please review:
- Sweet Clover
- Pakkanen
- Bringers
- I'll Give My Love an Apple/Swansongs 2
As well, we will be doing a run of Parts 1 & 2, so please devote your memory work to this half of the show. We will expect to see significant improvement in Part 1 in light of the work we did last week, and also expect to see good progress on Part 2. Please also review the movement for these two sections.
This is the point in our rehearsal process when your work on the show needs to be very consistent and regular, rather than irregular and for longer periods. Looking at your music a little bit every day will facilitate memory work much more easily than cramming the day before rehearsal.
In order to be as ready as possible for Ladies Night, we would like to have an extra rehearsal for Ladies Night music only on Tuesday March 27 from 7-9 pm at DANSpace-on-Grafton at 1531 Grafton St (near Pizza Corner). This is an optional rehearsal as we understand that not everyone will be able to make it, however, we hope that lots of people will be able to be there (and we will have a lot of fun!). And don't forget to SELL SELL SELL those tickets!
PS - Reminder for those who can be available to block off the morning of April 12 in your calendar for our performance for the Lieutenant Governor.
