If you missed last Sunday's rehearsal, we did a run of Parts 1 & 2 without stopping. It probably didn't go as well as anyone would have hoped, but we had some productive discussions about what we need to do to increase success. Everyone agreed to commit working on some important issues: memorizing music, watching Christina while performing, knowing the running order of the show, and feeling solid with movement.
For this Sunday, we will be doing a run of Part 3 & 4. After your feedback on Sunday, we will do a "walk through" of the movement before we do a run with music. Please look over all music and movement in detail and come prepared to work from memorization as much as possible. If you were not present for any part of our March Power Weekend, you absolutely must meet with someone from your section to go over what you missed. It's important to watch your section mates actually do the movement, and then do it with them. Only writing it in your scores will not facilitate memorization.
This will also be our last rehearsal for the Titanic performances, so Making Waves and Briar and the Rose must be top of your memorization list. Christina would like altos to especially look over your parts in Making Waves. We have just found out that we will not be singing To Be Sung on Water for the Titanic performances. We will sing Briar & the Rose for the Sunday memorial service.
Please remember that ALL music must be memorized by Sunday April 15, and that there is no rehearsal Easter Weekend, so please track your practice time accordingly. We will be running completely offbook from April 15 onward.
Thank you for all of your hard work so far and we can't wait to rock out on Thursday night at Ladies Night!!! Sell those tickets and get all of your friends and family to come out for an awesome night in support of Xara!!!!!
