Rehearsal Notes – March 16

V’la l’bon vent – up a semitone from written

Quartet sings first line from sitting

Choir sings from sitting until measure 11

Quartet stands during the choir’s first line and makes their way downstage left

Choir stands at measure 11 – interact with each other, help each other up

Measure 14 – 15 Snap forward on the slide to sing to the audience

Verse 2 – Stay in place

Letter A

Moving to new spaces, see one another and greet each other.

Quartet moves downstage right.

Letters B & C

Verse 3, 4 & 5

Knitters knit

Shila & Zoe – fold sheets

Emily & Sarah – fold sheets

Devon & Tenille – fold sheets

Nelle & Kallie – fold the other stuff in the basket

Tejas – fold the other stuff in the basket

Measure 56 – Look around at each other, slow down activity. NOT facing front.

Letter D

Measure 60 – 63 Head turns slowly to face the audience (& knitters stop knitting)

Measure 63 – 66  - Body turns to face the audience (& knitters stand up)

Letter E

Tiny steps forward on beat 2 of each bar (almost always on the word “vent”) Start on the right foot.

Measure 76 All of the stuff needs to get put away. Pass to Nelle, Tejas, Brianna & Joanna. Everyone must be back in place (mixed scattered, fill in the centre) for the last three measures. **The accel and cresc. must still occur**

Transition – Talk to each other (actually say something) Take off aprons and put them in baskets. Tenille moves to the front. When you hear Tenille, slow turn to face the audience, slow motion if you still have to deal with aprons. Jenny starts a slow spread of a low B-flat during the three lines. Shila and Brianna, move to the front to give your lines.  During this time, move to I Lie positions (two straight lines)

Verse 1 : Candle Holding Gesture (sequential)

In sequence : First put your left hand up to hold the bottom of the candle stick. Next movement raise your right hand to hold the candle.
