Tales of the Old North SHOW WEEK!

Hi everyone!

IT'S SHOW WEEK! I'm writing this from the theatre right now where Matt Downey is setting up the platforms and the scrim! It's all starting to happen!!!!!!!!! We wanted to fill you in on all the important details for show week so you've got it all in one place.

Schedule - All Rehearsals/Shows at Alderney Landing Theatre, Dartmouth

Wednesday Nov 25, 6-10 pm, Cue to Cue Rehearsal
Thursday Nov 26, 6-10 pm, Dress Rehearsal
Friday Nov 27, 6-10pm, Show #1
Saturday Nov 28, 1-10 pm, Shows #2 & #3 (dinner break is 4-6 and you’re welcome to leave during that time, or stay and eat something you brought with you)

Please note that the main doors to the theatre (by the glass elevator) will be LOCKED each night after 5pm. Please use the EXTERIOR set of stairs which are just outside the NSLC entrance. They are currently decorated to look like a MASSIVE Christmas tree...you can't miss it!

Rehearsal starts sharply at 6pm both nights. There will be someone in the space from at least 4pm onward every day if you would like to come early. Make sure you bring all your scripts and scores each night in case we need to review anything.

Cue to Cue Rehearsal

  • 6-7 pm Final Costume Fittings for Full Company // Tech Scene 3 (Hags) + end of Scene 5 (Ariana & Lucy confront the Queen)
  • 7-10 pm Tech Scenes 1, 2, 4, beginning of 5, and 6 with Full Company

We have a tremendous amount to do in a very short period of time on Wednesday night. Erin will be in charge backstage and will be providing detailed information about backstage etiquette. It is IMPERATIVE that you are focused and quiet during this rehearsal, so we can be very efficient.

You need to bring all costume, hair, makeup items etc to this rehearsal. It will be our first time seeing everything 'show ready' in the space so we are very excited. Please remove all nail polish and visible jewellery that is not specific to your costume in advance of this rehearsal.

Dress Rehearsal

We will finish anything we didn't get to on Wednesday night, and then start the run around 7:30 pm.

We will have a film crew here on Thursday evening to film sections of the show for promotional purposes. Just ignore them and they will do their thing :)

Shows

There will be very specific processes for dealing with your costumes during the shows. Please follow all instructions given by Erin and Matthew Peach so we can have everything stay clean and orderly backstage. One general, very important rule, is NO EATING while you are in costume :) Thank you!

Tickets

Tickets are selling very well at the box office - please encourage your remaining friends and family to book online this week as we may very well have full houses this weekend!

Wreaths

All wreath money and final numbers are due Saturday. Please make a good effort this week on wreath sales! If everyone sells just two more wreaths, we will be so much closer to our goal!! Of course, you can also always try to sell more than that! ;)

Wednesday Carolling

Thank you to those of you who are available for carolling on Wednesday. We will sing in the Alderney Landing Ferry Terminal (not on the ferry itself) from 5-5:45pm.  We will only be singing when there are people moving through the space (aka when people are coming off the ferry etc) and then taking breaks otherwise. Please have hair and makeup looking nice, and you can just wear winter coats/hats/scarves (look could be described as "wintery festive"). We will sing the repertoire that we sang for the Maritime Travel gig (but no Hanget Soi). Everyone needs to have photo ID on them for the performance as per the Transit Authority's rules.
